Meet our Model: Audrey

Don't let her flawless looks fool you, Audrey is so much more than a beautiful face. From Chicago, Audrey has spent the past few years in the Twin Cities as an actor and teaching artists. Outside of auditions and plays, she devotes her energy to nonprofit organizations and amplifying the voices of APIA artists.

A few other things about Audrey is that she feels most comfortable talking to her cats, has issues with authority, doesn't know when to stop pruning her plants, likes punny jokes (but will hit you if they're so bad it's good kind), cooks noodles wrong, and has successfully fit ten folds in a single dumpling - once.

Audrey was part of our Collection 03. Learn more about her below.

What advice would you tell your 16-year-old self on chasing your dreams? My instinctual response was, "Stop getting in your own way" or "Don't do this/don't do that" - I think that shows what little patience I tend to show my inner child/ self. So consciously challenging that mindset, I'd advise my younger self with a bit more kindness: "Your dreams and goals exist in the world, and so do you - it is inevitable that they will intersect. Just keep going."

Who is your favorite fxmale celebrity and why? Currently, I have been really inspired by Chanel Miller, author of Know My Name and illustrator. Following her Instagram has brought me a lot of comfort, especially through the pandemic. Her quirky, heartfelt and personal illustrations give room for reflection, imperfection, vulnerability, and they also just make me laugh sometimes, which is such a joy right now.

What books or shows/movies are you currently watching? Currently taking my time reading On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong and The Making of Asian America by Erika Lee. I've been rewatching some of my favorite shows like Fleabag and I May Destroy You, and I recently just started The Queen's Gambit.

What is your daily routine now that we're in a pandemic? Can't say I've been able to find a rigid routine, but generally, I've been getting up earlier than I'm used to, between 6am-7am, and getting in some quality cat snuggles before making some coffee and starting my day. After that, it's always some jumbled mix of work, personal projects, some physical activity like a walk outside, cat snuggles, food, and naps. My day usually consists of all those things, just not in a set pattern.
