Meet our Model: Yemi
Meet our model that has been gracing the new styles from Collection 02, Yemi. She’s an extraordinary person who volunteers her time tutoring students, working a strenuous job, while also attending school. How does she fit everything in while also being there for her friends, family, and modeling? We break the ice with Yemi below. Another super dope thing about Yemi, she was a Fulbright Scholar.
Who’s your fxmale inspiration/shero?
I have a few people in my life that I can say are my fxmale inspirations, but just to name a few I would say my older sister Olamide and my best friend Sarah. They both understand me at a level that I honestly can always rely on them when I need an extra boost of anything whether it’s confidence, wisdom, laugher, or an idea of what to eat that day. They are some of the hardest working and diligent people I know, and I strive to have even a fraction of their grace and leadership in my life.
What are your biggest insecurities and how have you overcome them?
Some of my biggest insecurities are my weight and my teeth. Some days I feel crippled with anxiety and have zero self-confidence, but one thing that helps me is buying clothes that make me feel beautiful and that fit my body shape. I am still working on embracing my teeth and feeling beautiful with my gap. It’s a work in progress but I believe I’ll get there someday.
What book are you reading right now?
I’m not reading anything right now, but I am enjoying watching one of my favorite YouTubers, Amy Lee. I love her AM with Amy series where she talks about mental health, body positivity, relationships- all the topics of a 24-year-old.
What’s your favorite meal and why?
My favorite meal… this is so hard. But I have to say Sushi. I love a nice buttery cut of salmon over rice. So fresh and delicious! Why? I could honestly survive eating this on most days if I could afford that lifestyle.
